Learning to Build Digital Training Together

The Connectivity for Central Asia (C4CA) project study visit brought participants from nearly every Central Asian country to Helsinki in April. The visit fostered a strong sense of collaboration and provided practical insights into developing digital training.

Understanding how digital training is designed and delivered

The objective of the study visit was to familiarize participants with the HAUS eOppiva training process. The aim was to help them understand how impactful digital learning is built on learning design and highlight the importance of pedagogical principles. A key goal was also to give participants the opportunity to see how learning content is produced in practice.

Learning by doing together

During the study visit, participants began developing a digital training following the eOppiva process. A mini version of the process was created, including several workshops and filming sessions, allowing participants to experience firsthand how digital training is developed at HAUS. For many, the workshop-based approach was new, but it quickly proved to be both engaging and effective. Instead of traditional lectures, participants actively worked on designing learning content themselves.

“We were particularly impressed by the HAUS team’s approach, specifically their methods for content creation, visualization, and cross-team collaboration. Seeing how ideas are developed and applied in such a different environment gave us fresh perspectives and boosted our confidence to try new things”, said Azizdzhoni Komil.

The eOppiva process was explored both in theory and in practice, which made the learning experience especially memorable. Participants were able to follow the full journey from planning to production.

“I also really enjoyed seeing how digital learning content is created step by step. From writing scripts to filming and using tools like Articulate 360 and Moodle, everything was very practical. It gave me a clearer picture of what it actually takes to build quality online courses”, highlighted Alisher Rapiev

The hands-on approach helped participants understand that effective digital learning is not just about content but about designing the entire learning experience.

“What made this visit special wasn’t just the content, but the way we learned. Instead of long lectures, we worked through hands-on workshops where we actually practiced designing digital learning. It helped me understand that good online training is not just about content, it’s about how you design the whole learning experience around people”, Alisher Rapiev summed it up.

Building connections and looking ahead

The study visit was not only about learning, but also about building connections. Participants got to know each other, shared experiences, and developed a strong sense of team spirit despite coming from different countries. The open and collaborative atmosphere played a key role. Participants quickly established a natural way of working together, supported by an environment that encouraged dialogue and mutual learning.

“One of the most valuable aspects was the group dynamic. Despite coming from different countries, we established a natural and effective workflow almost immediately. The organizers fostered a friendly, open atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable both as individuals and as young professionals. Through shared activities and daily conversations, we didn’t just network, we built genuine connections”, Azizdzhoni Komil reflected.

This sense of connection and trust laid an important foundation for future collaboration. The experience went beyond individual learning and created a shared understanding that participants can build on moving forward.

“Overall, this study visit was not just about learning new skills. It was about exchanging ideas, working together, and getting inspired. I’m coming back with new perspectives and practical knowledge that I’m excited to apply in my work”, said Alisher Rapiev.
