We are committed to promoting impact and responsibility through our special role as a state-owned company. Our core mission is to provide high-quality training and development services. In everything we do, we follow the principles outlined in the Finnish Government’s ownership policy.
Our strategy ensures that our services, products, and operations align with the principles of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since 2021, our sustainability reporting has been based on the UN’s 2030 Agenda and follows the guidelines set by the Finnish State Treasury.
As a special-assignment company, we are expected to operate with the highest standards of ethics and compliance. Corporate responsibility is deeply embedded in our business operations. This is supported by our Compliance function, which is integrated into our management system, risk management, and operational planning. It also maintains internal guidelines and oversees related training and reporting.
As a development organization, continuously improving our own operations comes naturally to us. We do this in close cooperation with our customers, employees, and other stakeholders. A staff representative is part of our management team, actively contributing to the development of our activities. We also report regularly to our owner.
Whistleblowing Channel
The purpose of the legislation is to ensure that individuals who, in the course of their work, observe or suspect misconduct or actions against the public interest in specific areas defined by EU or national law can report such concerns safely. State-owned companies are required to provide an anonymous channel for reporting observed irregularities or misconduct. HAUS is firmly committed to supporting global climate objectives and working toward a more sustainable future. We recognize that, as a state-owned special-assignment company, we play a significant role in addressing climate change. We aim to be a forerunner in advancing sustainable development.
To this end, we are actively working toward the following international and national climate goals:
The Paris Agreement – UNFCCC
We support the Paris Agreement goal of limiting the global average temperature increase to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels and are actively working to keep the rise to no more than 1.5°C. This commitment means adopting best practices and developing innovative solutions to reduce carbon emissions across our entire organization.
Finland’s Carbon Neutrality Target 2035 – Finnish Government
We are committed to achieving Finland’s national carbon neutrality target by 2035. Our goal is to significantly reduce our organization’s carbon footprint and to develop operational practices that promote carbon neutrality at all levels of activity. In particular, we focus on increasing our carbon handprint—the positive climate impact of our actions—and strive to ensure that carbon neutrality goals are integrated across all aspects of our operations.
Net Zero Targets – SBTi
We aim to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050 by reducing our greenhouse gas emissions to zero or offsetting any remaining emissions through sustainable and effective methods. To reach this goal, we will analyze and optimize our energy consumption, consider investments in emission reduction technologies, and support carbon capture and other offsetting strategies wherever feasible.
Action Plan 2024–2026
Our Sustainable Development and Responsibility Action Plan for 2024–2026 supports our climate and sustainability goals through concrete measures. Achieving these objectives requires collaboration and commitment across all levels of the organization.
Monitoring and Reporting
We regularly monitor our progress toward these goals and report transparently to our stakeholders. We are also developing indicators to help assess the impact of our actions and to adjust our strategy as needed.
