HAUS Finnish Institute of Public Management Passed the EU Pillar Assessment – A New Step Toward Stronger Responsibility and Transparency
HAUS Finnish Institute of Public Management has reached a significant milestone by successfully passing the pillar assessment conducted by the European Commission. The aim of the assessment was to ensure that HAUS complies with the EU’s financial regulations, covering key areas such as internal control, accounting, external audit, procurement procedures, data publication, and personal data protection.
Passing the pillar assessment enables HAUS Finnish Institute of Public Management to act as an entrusted entity under the EU’s indirect management. This means that HAUS can now sign Contribution Agreements with the European Commission and participate more extensively in European development projects. The arrangement allows for broader and more impactful public sector development activities in Finland, across Europe, and even globally.
“Successfully completing the pillar assessment is a truly meaningful achievement for us and enables stronger participation in European projects and initiatives. The assessment process has been demanding, and through it, our commitment to responsibility and transparency has been evaluated and made visible. We are now able to act as a contractual partner in various projects, thereby promoting development and expertise within public administration,” states Kirsi Aaltola, Director of Development Services at HAUS.
