Assistant to the RTA (Resident Twinning Adviser) in Amman, Jordan

HAUS Institute of Public Management (Finland) is seeking to contract an Assistant to the Resident Twinning Advisor (RTA) to provide support and general assistance in an EU Twinning Project. The position is a Full-time role and is located at the Institute for Public Administration (IPA).

The service contract offered would be up until the end of the project (24 Feb 2026) and has a monthly salary of EUR 1,600 (non-negotiable). The person must be a Jordanian national or a foreign national with the right to work in Jordan and already located in Amman. The project will not cover relocation.

Job description:

  • Assisting RTA in organization of experts’ missions, trainings, seminars, workshops, steering committee meetings, and
    other project events, as well as providing general local assistance in everyday life of RTA
  • Drafting of written materials with relation to the project in Arabic and English
  • Overall management of the office administration, including filling, organizing trainings, expert missions, local travels,
    general desk office work etc.
  • Organization of meetings in cooperation with Beneficiary Country partners, preparing meeting agenda and taking
    minutes
  • Developing and maintaining close working contacts and relationships with Beneficiary Country officials involved in each
    of the activities
  • Act as a translator and interpreter in the absence of RTA Language Assistant
  • Drafting and editing minutes of meetings, assisting to the RTA in drafting and editing monthly, quarterly and final project reports and any other relevant documents
  • Arrangement of travel, booking accommodation and organisation of study visits
  • Office management and general correspondence
  • Replace and supplement translator/interpreter when needed
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the RTA

Qualifications: 

  • Relevant university degree
  • Native in Arabic and fully fluent in English
  • At least 3 years, preferably 5 years relevant professional experience
  • Previous experience in donor funded projects
  • Computer literate (MS Office programmes, email, Internet)
  • Capability to work under pressure and heavy work load
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal working hours, if needed
  • Capability for both independent and team work
  • Previous experience in EU and especially Twinning project is a strong asset;
  • Proven knowledge of Jordanian public administration is a strong asset
