Vocational Qualifications
At HAUS College, we organize official vocational and specialist vocational qualifications approved by the Finnish National Agency for Education. In Finland, the qualifications structure in vocational education and training (VET) has three levels.
Vocational Qualifications
By completing a vocational qualification, you receive an official certificate of your expertise recognized within Finland’s educational system. Vocational qualification aids in career advancement and enhances job prospects, serving as a practical testament to your ability to perform tasks outlined in the qualification and contribute to developing workplace practices. It is a formal acknowledgment of the skills you have demonstrated in practice.
At HAUS College, we specialize in vocational qualifications tailored to public administration environments, such as the Business Administration Qualification for document management professionals, the Specialist Qualification in Management and Leadership for those in managerial roles, and the Specialist Business Administration Qualification for HR professionals.
Benefits of a Vocational Qualification
Completing a vocational qualification proves your proficiency in the relevant field, offering an official certificate upon graduation. These qualifications are approved by the Finnish National Agency for Education and are part of Finland’s formal educational system. They are widely respected in job applications, as many roles often require a corresponding vocational qualification. Additionally, vocational qualifications can have a positive impact on salary levels.
Completing a Vocational Qualification While Working
Vocational qualifications are achieved through practical demonstrations performed at the student’s workplace, reflecting real-world tasks. The goal of education is to fill any gaps in knowledge or skills required for the qualification. The curriculum sets the required competency levels, and demonstrations are planned to align with these standards. During the process, students can build on their existing expertise while enhancing their workplace practices.
Each learner receives a personalized demonstration plan tailored to their qualification modules. At the beginning of the program, students collaborate with their workplace supervisor and HAUS representative to create a Personal Competence Development Plan (HOKS). This plan outlines the training and on-the-job learning needed to meet the qualification requirements and schedules specific demonstrations for each qualification component.
HAUS College also offers vocational qualifications through apprenticeship programs, which are free of charge for both the student and their employer.
